If you haven’t started juicing yet then now is the time to begin! Not only are homemade juices tasty, but they are a healthy way to get a lot of wonderful nutrients into a quick, portable drink. You’ll enjoy drinking your juice almost as much as you’ll appreciate all of the amazing health benefits that come along with juicing! It’s important to remember that juicing shouldn’t take the place of an actual meal. While homemade juices are a great way to up your nutrient intake, you need the fiber, protein, and fat that come from other foods as well. Think of juicing as a way to supplement your diet and you’ll soon learn to love it!
For people who are just getting started learning how to juice there are only a few things you’ll need: a juicer and some fruits and vegetables. Two main kinds of juicers are readily available. These are the masticating and centrifugal juicers. If you go into a store and buy a juicer off the shelf it’s most likely going to be a centrifugal juicer. They’re a lot cheaper than their counterparts and will get the job done, although they don’t do a great job extracting juice, especially from leafy greens. So if you are looking to add juicing to your diet on a regular basis you will want to see about buying a masticating juicer.
These juices are superior to centrifugal juicers in most every way, but you need to be prepared to shell out a lot more money for them. No matter what kind of juicer you have, half of the fun is trying new recipes and seeing what vegetable combinations you like best. Here are some simple recipes that have been tested and found to be delicious! Using fruit as the only sweetener allows the taste of the juice to really shine through and keeps them really healthy!
